Two good, but very mixed days running an NNAS Silver course from Alwinton. Yesterday we were treated to very strong gusts of wind and heavy rain for most of the morning. Today was much better, having little wind and great views. It was however very cold. Yesterday we stayed in the valley due to conditions, today we carried out various navigation exercises in the area around Rookland Hill and Puncherton. |
Excellent weekend at Aviemore. Had a wander up Sgor Gaoith on Saturday and enjoyed some great views on top. The weather was better than forecast, although still very cold in the wind. The clag cleared for a while, so we got some cracking views. We stayed at Aviemore YH which was excellent. |
Great weekend spent socialising, networking and attending some excellent workshops. Met some great folk, looking forward to next year's event already! More details can be found here: http://www.mlta.co.uk/news-detail.php?id=482 |
Two great days in the Cheviots running an NNAS course. Blue sky and sunshine both days and awesome views. Thanks to Clennell Hall Hotel for the hospitality. |
Just attended an excellent two day first aid course. The course was specific to the outdoor environment, and was run by mountainsense. Highly recommended. |
Nice stroll out today: Stone Arthur - Great Rigg - Fairfield - Seat Sandal. Quite strong winds on the tops, otherwise not bad at all weatherwise. |
Nice walk round the Coledale Horseshoe today. Bit cool and breezy at times, otherwise not a bad day weatherwise. |
Windy walk along High St. today. Took the following route from Hartsop: Hayeswater - The Knott - High St. - Thornthwaite Beacon - Gray Grag. Had a nice pint of Moroccan Sunset at The White Lion at Patterdale afterwards. |
A wet and windy day on the Dodds today. I took the following route: High Row - Matterdale Common - Randerside - Great Dodd - Watsons Dodd - Stybarrow Dodd - Greenside - Hart Side. |
